This video tutorial discuss the upgrading process of your Drupal site. In order to fix security issues and take advantage of many new features, upgrading your Drupal site to Drupal 6 is recommended.

Special note: Users of Drupal 5 update_status module have to disable and uninstall update_status before upgrading to Drupal 6 (this is demonstrated in the video)!

How to spy on Drupal related domain names

I recently found an interesting service called Mark Alert by Domain Tools.

Mark Alert by Domain Tools allows you to be alerted when someone registers a domain name with any terms or phrases in it that you specify.

Emails are sent daily and you can adjust which terms get emailed to you and which ones don't. Supported TLDs are .com, .net, .org, .biz, .us, and .info.

The Pingback module

This tutorial covers the Pingback module for Drupal.

This is a great module, it is worth installing! If you managed to install the module on your own website, please pingback this page for testing! Creating a pingback is really easy, now I'm creating one to this site:

http://leapon.net/en/drupal-gets-pingback

I only mentioned the above website in this post, and the Pingback module did the hard work, it's simple.

Click here to watch the screencast!

One set of developer tools for Drupal

There are many useful editors and debuggers useable to churn out Drupal code. However, most popular IDEs are written in some non-native language, so they are so very resource intensive and because of that, so slow that I just can't use them. This includes Eclipse, Zend and Komodo. So, this article will not be about these. Neither I will write about the virtues of vi or emacs -- I use much simpler tools.
