Announcing Drupal Miracle: The Step by Step Drupal 6 Tutorial Videos

greggles's picture

Would you like to learn Drupal 6 as quickly as possible? You have already learned the basics but you would like to advance further? Or you’d rather learn the new features of Drupal 6? Then this announcement is especially for you.

I am issuing my tutorial video on Drupal 6 later this year (2008) in the first half of 2009, whose title is Drupal Miracle: Step by Step Drupal 6 Tutorial Videos. This will include over 10 hours of video!

The Drupal Association will recieve a 20% of commission for each copy sold. As a result, these videos will not only increase the number of Drupal developers, but also provide financial support to the Drupal Association. That is a double advantage!

The target audience of the Drupal Miracle are those Drupal developers who are on beginner-intermediate level. “Intermediate” developers are those who have already acquired the basics and would like to improve their knowledge further, to build more complex sites. However, I also would like complete beginners to be able to learn from the videos. Therefore, I am definitely creating the teaching material in a way that can aid complete beginners.

Structure of the Videos

I am going to work on one Drupal based website during the whole training to provide a real life example. The videos will demonstrate how you can construct a complex website with the aid of Drupal, which is for “real” usage. I am going to discuss in detail the most important modules like Views, CCK, Organic Groups, Panels and many other useful modules.

One of the main parts of the instructional material is going to be the demonstration of the above modules through real tasks and how to getting lots of modules to work together. Two other highly valuable pieces will be theming the site - taking an existing design and implementing it as a Drupal theme - and the basics of module development.

The videos can be watched online with a browser through the member area. There are several advantages of these online Flash videos:

  • You can immediately access the videos from everywhere in the world, you do not have to wait for delivery
  • There are no delivery costs
  • You get future updates of the videos free of charge (e.g. correction of faults, expansions)

Why is the teaching video the best means of education? The answer is: you can learn the given teaching material quickly and easily as you see each operation with your own eyes. If needed, you can stop, rewind and play again any of the videos whenever you would like to. If you are a visual type (as most of the people are) you cannot find a better teaching method.

Until the videos are ready, it is worth checking the blog for the emerging free of charge Drupal 6 videos. Subscribe to the RSS feed so you won't miss the videos!

You may also want to watch some of the previous videos that I've made including the SEO Course. The Drupal SEO Course is more than 1 hour video about how you can quickly and easily make your Drupal site search engine friendly, or what those faults are which cause your site to perform badly in the search engines. Sign up for our free SEO course in the right sidebar!

UPDATE (February 15th, 2009): The key module, Panels 3 for Drupal 6 is still missing. Therefore the release date of Drupal Miracle delayed. However, we plan to release the videos later this year (2009). Very sorry for the delay. We understand that we announced the videos very early, but without the modules we cannot record the videos (We hoped that the key modules will be ready earlier). Subscribe to the RSS feed so you won't miss any updates about the videos!

Great idea! Videos is much

Great idea! Videos is much better than written documentation. If the price is reasonable, you would find many customers. However, isn't there a better way than using a proprietary solution like Flash?!

You will be able to download the videos in Quicktime format. Then you can use VLC player, which is cross-platform and free.

Great idea! I will support the project if the price is reasonable and the training is of high quility.

When do you plan to release Drupal Miracle?

I'm really new to Drupal

I'm really new to Drupal (zero experience), will these video be a good starting point for me or are there others that I need to watch first (and what are they)? Help in this direction is much appreciated, I would like to learn Drupal and start a project with it. Thanks -- Carmelo C Bonilla Jr, Hawaii USA

What kind of quality will

What kind of quality will the videos be? Will the quality be worth the money?

So far Drupal 6 is a tease

So far Drupal 6 is a tease to me. No views, category templates, and several other mods that are crucial to what I want to do. I don't know if I would need this video (as I have spent so many hours learning and using Drupal 5X) but what I watched before I knew how to use Drupal was beneficial. I wouldn't jump the gun on Drupal 6 as of yet. there is still so much that needs to be done.

Did you see the Views 2

Did you see the Views 2 Teaser in the newsletter group on g.d.o? (you need to be a member of the group, as mentioned in the views group?

Are you also aware there was a Call For Help For Views 2 In Drupal 6 back in November, three months ago?

I learned how to use Drupal

I learned how to use Drupal in January, and I know WordPress and concepts of SEO fairly well. I spent nearly 60 hours in January getting up to speed with Drupal, and hit a lot of dead ends. I am at a level where I can do a lot, but I am not a coder so I can't help anyone with that. I did watch a video about views from this site I believe and it is what got me on the road to creating Drupal sites. The jury is still out for me with Drupal, because there are always bugs. Wordpress seems to have less but you can't do as much with it. If Drupal 6 is what I am hoping it is eventually, I will be happy.

That was a long winded way of saying I haven't seen any of those things you mentioned. SO if I sign up for the group I can get in on the Alpha testing of views? I might be interested if I can find the time. I can definitely make programs crash and find the problems...

You don't have to join

You don't have to join anything to see what is going on with views. Feel free to download Views 2, but please note the warning at the top of the page.

The only reason you'd need to join the newsletter group is because you would want to see the teaser article on Views 2 and how awesome it is going to be.

If you're willing to find time to make programs crash and file bug reports (and it doesn't just have to be on Drupal Core or Views (1 or 2)) then the Drupal community would love to have you! Some links to use as jumping off points:

  • Pending Patches for Views - There's tons of patches that need to be reviewed

Hello I tried to post this

Hello I tried to post this yesterday after watching the "What's new with Drupal 6" video, but got an error that you exceeded your bandwidth.

Thanks for tutorials, I have many questions about making Drupal sites do the things I have learned in the StompingNet Stomping The Search Engine Courses.

    For instance:
    1. In order to push PR through a site, it is best practice to have more than 1 template where you control internal linking structure with rel="nofollow" tags. So how does one do this with a Drupal Site? For instance, a index page for site is tier 1, links to category pages (tier 2) but other pages like "contact us" and some external links are rel-nofollow. Tier 2 pages link to detailed tier 3 pages, but rel-nofollow to index. And Tier 3 page link back to index page, but rel=nofollow to tier 2. This is just one possible scenario of course.

    1. How can you have better control over the title tags for a page? Having them match the title of node often is not exactly what you want.

Look forward to the future lessons.

    Have a look at

    Have a look at page_title.module (v2).

As far as the nofollow linking is concerned, this is something that you'd have to control manually, really. Using robots.txt to restrict SEs from contact pages etc is simple enough. Internal linking from within nodes is somewhat more time consuming, however. You would have to implement all your nodes manually using full or partial html filtering, so WYWISYG editing and other similar modules (Textile, etc) would be out of the window.

However, if someone were to construct a filter system that could analyse links and their destination by some settings in a module, I think a few people would be quite happy about it...

I can only thank you for

I can only thank you for providing us Drupal new-comers with such detailed and relevant information. I can't wait to know Drupal 6 inside out! Thanks for this opertunity. Who knows, maybe one day I will be doing the same for Drupal 8 - The flash version ;D (yep Flash is my fet and I would like to fully integrate it with drupal in such a way that you can administer everything within a flash (search engine friendly) CMS environment. It would be even more interesting to investigate presenting a 3D semantic web using Flash/Flex, AJAX, Papervision 3D and Drupal doing the core work!

Until then... I think I'll just watch you're videos and contemplate on contributing Drupal once I have el Knowledge!

    Cheers Greggles!

    Thanks Greg and Bence! So

    Thanks Greg and Bence!

So does the video training series already has a price tag? And how much would the membership cost?

And do you have a sort-of "affiliate-program" for this? I know that Greg is a good teacher, and very knowledgeable with Drupal, so I'd be really proud to promote this training series on my sites.

Also, I believe it would help if you guys could provide a sort-of "Table of Contents" for the videos, so that potential buyers would know what they'd get for their money. Lynda.com and TotalTraining.com provides great examples of how this is done, including other ways to effectively market instructional videos.

Looking forward for the Drupal Miracle! Thanks again Greg!

    Good Idea

Is there any help pages or site for installing?

I really wanna use Drupal Miracle to make several things clear for me... :)

    I didn't no such a thing existed

I guess I should have known that tutorials for Drupal existed. I installed it on a website once through my host but had such problems setting it up that I gave up on it. Thanks for bringing such a product to notice.

Its so much easier to have

Its so much easier to have someone show you the process! That's fantastic!

    Drupal 6.1 site on Seocontest2008

    Hi,

It was a good experience to read your interesting post. Right now I am surveying web sites to find good examples both for valuable content, aesthetic webdesign and good site structure for successful search engine optimization (SEO). I am intending to use the resultsof the survey on my site http://seocontest2008.seoserviceconsultant.com/ that I am right now participating with to the international webmaster and search engine optimization contest "Seocontest2008" organized by UK Webmaster World. I hope the experience gained will allow me to publish some worthwile experience about what is successful web design and SEO. Thanks again for the opportunity to contemplate your site and gain some experience from your way to publish your site on the Internet.

It's right now I've upgraded my site http://seocontest2008.seoserviceconsultant.com/ to the latest version 6.1 of Drupal and I am starting the fine tuning.

Your post is of great help.

    When

When do you plan to release and at what price? Lullabot.com is also working on video training, so who will be first? I am ready to spend money on who ever release first.

    Thanks

    Jesper

    When

I agree with the previous writer. When is this thing coming out?

    Views, CCK and others

We want to cover the most important modules: Views 2, Panels 2, CCK etc.
But they are not ready at the moment. So we cannot move on until they are ready. However we already recorded a few hours training.

Keep your eyes on our RSS feed for any updates!

    Why not release the videos

Why not release the videos over time? That way, we can take a little more time to learn the stuff well, instead of trying to absorb 10 hours at once. We get started sooner, too.

    Why not release the videos

I agree, release the videos over time. And soon please.

    Hello, good video! I think

Sorry for the delay. We are working on the videos.

    Hi,
what is the price that you plan to sell these videos for?

    Any update?

Ive been checking in on this site for the videos for a while now. Is there still a plan to release these videos? Is it possible to do it in a phased approach, so that we can start leaning now?

    Please, I need this!

Please, please, I need a Drupal Miracle! I'm completely new to Drupal and have been searching useful tutorials for a newbie like me. Are you close to making Drupal Miracle available? Believe me, I'll say a few prayers to make this miracle some true!

    April is over

we're now in the month of may. is it already available?

I am about start a blog on wordpress....

I love your work and wish to move from b2evolution to a different solution. My host only allows me to use drupal 6.0. Please release it soon.

    Thanks,

    Doctorjay

    Videos Great Source

Thanks for the hard work. Many will benefit from your vision with videos rather than standard documentation.

    Still no Drupal Miracle

Still no Drupal Miracle. Will it ever be released? You write that you will release 2 -3 weeks after Views release. Well Views is in beta (beta3) but beta 2 was released about almost 3 weeks ago and is useable. So what are you waiting for? When will you release Drupal Miracle.

It is harder than writing a

It is harder than writing a book, because we have to show the final UI, and if a module does not work, then we cannot record it. But if we were writing a book, we could easily write about a module wich is in beta version.

We need also CCK to be ready. But we recorded several training parts already, don't fear!

    Waiting in Anticipation

    Hi
Is this tutorial still going to be released? Any further news?
Getting eager to learn as much as possible about Drupal so that I can start ontributing back to the Drupal community.
I have some projects that I want to begin once this is released.

    Thanks for your patience! I

Thanks for your patience! I suggest you to take a look at the Drupal Handbook, you can get started with Drupal 6. By the time we release the videos you can learn a lot from the Handbook!
We are working on the videos, I will post an update on the work progress soon!

    I'd be interested in hearing

I'd be interested in hearing the price of this too.

Views is in beta3 and CCK is

Views is in beta3 and CCK is in beta, so now you should be able to finish Drupal miracle. Any new time frame?

    ?

Any news on when you will publish these tutorials? We're desperate for them: )

    Looking forward....

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on those tutorials and learning more about drupal. I am not actually in desperation mode yet but I am getting there.

    questions

How much will it cost ?
Are they available in different languages ?
Where will they be distributed ?

    When?

"We are working on the videos, I will post an update on the work progress soon!", when?

    this would be useful

Please hurry up and get this published. I'm working on a couple of Drupal projects and could do with all the help I can get.
However, I'm still a learner and the learning curve is particularly steep.

    Going to happen?

Did this ever happen? I can't seem to find where to buy these. Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Vaporware of the Month"

MasteringDrupal.com wins the Drupal 'Vaporware of the Month' award. In addition to the SEO video that doesn't actually mail a link, the 'Drupal Miracle' series of videos seems to be missing in action. Since mid-February. That's four months. I know Will our intrepid video mongers be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat? Greggles - I know you're still around because I've seen your excellent Views 2 video. But we need a response here. Can you help us out?

    You are right, I will

You are right, I will publish an update about the videos. We need an additional 1 month to put together videos, sorry for delay.

The May release date was just my estimation. The problem is this: in video we can show only stable modules. But the key modules for Drupal 6 aren't stable yet, but they are getting close! If we were writing a book, we could write about beta modules, but we record videos.

By the way, Drupal 6 has little market share, so you haven't missed anything. I mean, you have still lots of time to learn Drupal 6: http://blamcast.net/articles/drupal-version-statistics

You should find the links to the SEO episodes in our emails. If you don't find them, please contact us.

    please have a little patience

    greggles's picture

If we released the videos now you'd only get half of a product - the power of Drupal lies in contributed modules. Many of the great contributed modules are not quite ready for 6.x yet. So...we wait and try to help modules get ready and stable for 6.x. If you look at my tracker you'll see a bunch of issues related to 6.x compatibility. There's a reason for that ;)

    --
    My Drupal articles

    Excellent - Thank you.

    greggles, Bence,

Thanks for your replies. I've been toying with the modules for 6. There are definitely issues of module compatibility still. I can see how that would impact your videos. Apologies for my obnoxiousness! I look forward to a stable module set and an excellent set of videos.

Is there a release date yet?

Im knew to drupal so this video series would be perfect for me. Any idea of when it might be coming out?

    Woooow

Dang this looks real neat bro, i have been hearing a lot about drupal, so time to take a deep look on it....nice cover design by the way.

Waiting to hear the release date

I keep checking back here to find the release date fot the Drupal Miracle. Hopefully it will be released soon. I have already made several new websites but I have several more to do and I would be real interested in Drupal Miracle.

    notify when ready

    Hi,
I as well am looking for a good comprehensive on drupal. I;ve been see alot about it recenlty, and am looking for a good tutorial system that will help working with it. Nice that you are also donating parts of the proceeds to the association.

Hope you can get things worked out soon.

    Mike

    Nice Product

How much is the purchase price?

    Join forces

I just saw on drupal.org that there is a new video out. Maybe you could join the forces!
Anyway, a great idea for the new Drupal users!

    Keep up the good work!
    Joep

    Views and CCK are release

Views and CCK are release candidates now. So you got to be able to finish The Step by Step videos mow. When do you plan to release?

    http://drupal.org/node/277856

    i definitely dugg this story.

now i just need to set aside the time to sit through the videos

    Could we please

Could we please get a release update?

    Moved to Joomla

I really wanted to get started on Drupal based on some limitations I have found with Wordpress. I have been checking back on your site for months for these videos to be released. But I had to cave and install joomla. At least there are some good video tutorials on lynda.com for joomla. Maybe by the time I launch my next project you will have the videos out...

    Has this been released yet

Has this been released yet and can it be downloaded somewhere?

    lol

I'd like to add my "When is the release date?" question to the list, but I see you've got plenty. Maybe the announcement was a bit early... :)

    I just heard of drupal

I just heard of drupal recently being more familiar with wordpress. I'll have to look into the benefits or major differences between the two.

I had no CLUE about DRUPAL!

I just finally got the hang of wordpress and I've been hearing lots about drupal. My dreamhost hosting service makes it easy for me to one click install drupal, so I did that recently, goofed around with it a bit but found it difficult to get the hang of it!

Thank you for putting together a GREAT Video course on it!!! Should finally give me the help I need to get this going!!! Maria Gudelis

    What's next...

We have used joomla for three or four projects now and it has its limitations, not sure if we should try Drupal or not... Anyone have any experience switching from one to the other?

    Drupal Miracle

On june 16, you wrote "It looks like that we need 1-1,5 month to finish the videos" in a mail. Well more the one month has gone by. Any news? Will we get Drupal Miracle this time around? Could we get a reply this time? What will it cost? When do you plan to release?

"It looks like that we need

"It looks like that we need 1-1,5 month to finish the videos". Well that´s today. So where is it? Was it all just a big joke!

    Drupal 6

I have been using drupal 6 and still waiting for bug happy sitemap and pathauto mods. These are two huge mods that IMO should be a part of the core. Otherwise I am enjoying some of the new features of 6 :)

so after all this hype are

so after all this hype are you going to release it or not?

    Update

Could we get an update, soon?

As you can see I need a Drupal Miracle

All good thinds come to those who wait...

I am in. Of course CCK and Views is holding you back from releasing. But I took your advice and read the handbook in the meantime.

We will need to budget so give us some price range for the 10 hours.

    Thanks for your vision.

    Dr

    drupal vs. joomla

I'm looking at both drupal and joomla.

Is there a site which can tell me the main difference between the two?

    Thanks

    J.R.

    Systematic Tool, finally

Congratulations on assembling a guide that makes Drupal building doable.

When I client comes to me with a Drupal request, I have to sub contract it out. Not anymore.

    Thanks

    Hello! I'm looking forward

    Hello!

I'm looking forward to the screencast. When wil it be ready?

    Waiting for a miracle

We are still waiting, now for more then 6 month! Perhaps we will receive Drupal Miracle one day?

Oh, and by the way, it is possible to release excellent Drupal 6 video training. Tom Geller just released Drupal Essential Training for Lynda.com

So all in all, we are still waiting for a “Miracle”.

    Updates?

Any updates on the release of the videos? I understand that Views 2 are out now.

    Thanks!

    Rights!

Do we have rights to distribute it further? To be very true, we are a group and all of us want to adopt Drupal as our permanent publishing platform. I needed to purchase some books but I think this video tutorial can be the best thing.

    News

Hi, I'm studying Drupal and am I very interested to the course.. there are news about the video course(s)?
    Thanks

    Are these available yet?

Sorry, but when do these become available. Have just started using Drupal and am completely at a loss.

    I love durpal 6, i find it

I love durpal 6, i find it just as useful as wordpress. The only reason i use wordpress is because i use it with my iphone, other than that im a Dupral user full go! I was wondering their new updates are going to appear on their site and how much its going to cost.

    Any news on availability?

We tried to develop our site on drupal and a lot of problems, we are looking for a training material like this. Keep us posted.

    Great info, thanks for

Great info, thanks for posting this... I love Drupal tutorials considering I'm new to it.

    Yes video tutorials will be

Yes video tutorials will be awesome! Can hardly wait. Also I agree releasing them over time would be even better.

    Is it ready?

Do you have these training videos ready? Please let me know.

    Great idea to make this

Great idea to make this tutorial on video, i prefer to watch when i am learning than read boring text.

    The videos sound awesome.

The videos sound awesome. Any update as to when they will be available. I would categorize myself in the "beginner" stage, but it sounds like they would be something for me. The idea of going from start to finish on one website will be great for me. Keep us updated.

    Cheers.

    Expected release???

    Hi
Still waiting for the release of video.
Could you please update the date of its release??

    Any updates on the videos?

The year is almost over, any chance to get this videos out for the holidays?, that would be better than Santa Claus!

    Any timeframe update on availability?

I've experimented a little with Drupal, and am looking to learn it more in depth now so I can work on integrating my web app with it.
Any info on an updated timeframe that the videos might be available?
Will there be any any info on setup on a Windows-based setup using PostgreSQL as the db, or is it strickly Drupal after the basic install is working and functional?
My web app is ASP.NET, but I'm looking to make the two work together on Windows 2008 Web Server with PostgreSQL db for both.

    Drupal Vs Joomla

Hi ! I am a new user of Drupal and eagerly waiting for the "Drupal Miracle Video Tutorial"

Before using Drupal I was using Joomla! I was attracted to joomla rather than Drupal because I was searching for a easy to learn CMS. Everybody told me Joomla! is great and easy but Drupal is very hard to learn. Yes it is really right that Joomla is very easy but the lie is it is not great. After developing my site using joomla I was very happy but when I gave attention to SEO rathe than developing then the true face of Joomla came out. Joomla is a nightmare in the question of seo. It is not seo friendly rather it takes a long and lot to make it seo friendly. Joomla really disappointed me.

Then I tried to learn Drupal and I found that according to every one's saying it is not very hard to learn Drupal. And it has many many many features that the Joomla don't have. According to me I think the major difference between these two cms is it is very easy to develop a site using joomla but a nightmare to maintain your site and make it seo friendly. On the other hand developing a site using drupal is more professional, it is very easy to maintain your site and the seo is great in Drupal.

    I love Drupal.

    Cant wait for the release

    when will it be available?

    Drupal Miracle

Is it available yet? When will Drupal Miracle be available?

let us know once their ready..

we'll be happy to help promote them once they're ready.. and have some domains and lists interested.

I'd say the best thing would actually be to do the vids for 5.14 - it's more stable.. and for many people thay don't need 6.. many people are already saying .. jump to 7..

    drupal videos

    This looks very interesting

This looks very interesting I cannot wait to get my hands on this when it is released as I am trying to learn about drupal - I am a wordpress guy and I think that I have good knowledge of wordpress and ready to move up to more advanced CMS like Drupal - just wondering how much something like this might cost.

This is exactly what I need.

This is exactly what I need. But where's the link? Where can I go to get this videos? Or are they still not released? Please answer as I really need something like this and these videos sound great. Oh and by the way, it's great to hear that the Drupal Association will get 20% of commission. You didn't need to do this and the fact that you're doing it... well, it sets an example that I hope will be followed.

    How do I sign up?

I want to know how I could sign up to download these when they are released. I'm learning drupal now, I'm an Art Director and mastering themes is one of my greatest interest as a traditional graphic designer. Drupal is great and once I'm running with it I'll contribute back to the Open Source community with some free content. BTW I know your videos will be paid I just want to know when?

    Uh huh..The real miracle

Uh huh..The real miracle would be if I can actually get my hands on this. Is it ready for release yet? How much is this going to set me back? I hope that A)it comes out soon. and B)it wont cost me an arm and a leg. What are the chances of that?

    Where I can get it?

Sorry, I'm a bit late, I'm not sure, but I was looking for some video tutorials on Drupal based development, and have a question. Is Drupal Miracle available now? And where is it possible to get it?

    I will chek it out

I am planning to use Drupal for my next two projects, I will check this out.

    It would be really exciting

It would be really exciting to learn from video...as reading texts always bored me...I hope the video quality is good and the money worth investing!

Maybe it's time to give it a try

I've been hearing a lot about Drupal lately. First, I wondered what the heck it was. Then, I thought it would be too complicated. But I think that this tutorial is my sign from the programming "gods" that it's time to give it a try. Thanks!

Have you given this some thought?

    Hi,
Just a suggestion which I saw used someplace else...Even though entire product wasn't available at time promised this site didn't let that stop them and released those pieces that were available. Really worked for me because there was still a lot I could learn from what was available and kept me interested and waiting for more...

They say that Drupal is the

They say that Drupal is the easiest to configure and to manipulate of all CMS platforms out there. For me, it's still an enigma. Thanks for this new Drupal resource, will definitely go check it out.

    previous post is so true

Publishing some tutorials until the rest of modules are ready is a good way to do it. I am sure that Panels 3 is something that is still under development and many other possible modules. But I am sure that at least the 50% of this 10-hour tutorial is ready so why not split it in two parts? Just to keep users busy and have enough time to digest the info until everything is ready!

    update Available??

Any further progress since your update to this post in February? We are now in July, I am sure you are aware of that, but some of us are very interested! No pressure of course!

I previously subscribed to the feeds about the videos but have not been able to locate any new information?

    Thanks
    Regards
    Adirec

    Flexible

Why can't you try all these in WordPress?? I think it will be more flexible than Drupal... I am gonna try it out!! Hope to get back to you soon... Thank you.

    Dupral

Seriously can someone tell me if dupral is any good, I have heard a lot about it, but just need confirmation before I try??!!

    Drupal 6 CCK hook mysteries

In Drupal's CCK, how do I add additional global settings to fields?

Disclaimer: I'm a Rails developer who is plenty familiar with PHP, but Drupal's learning curve is a little steeper than one morning. Pointing me to the right hooks or a module that does the same type of thing as I'm doing should be just as good as spelling out what to do.

I'm working with Content Profile and need to add a(n integer) setting for every field that's created under the Profile content type. Let's call it Priority. It'd be like the "Maximum length" setting in terms of numerality and globalness, but I need to add it via a module. hook_field_settings looks promising, but I can't figure out how to get in there on top of an existing field type - there are plenty of articles out there that show me how to do this if I was making a whole new field type, but I'd rather attach this to all of the existing ones.

Bonus points for getting this value to appear as a column on the top level 'Manage fields' page. Even more bonus points for the go-to (e)book for Drupal development.

I never used Drupal before, maybe gonna try

I was thinking about trying Drupal but I heard it is quite complicated. And I'm not strong at error & problems handling with such systems when it comes to that... As many users, i don't like written guides and bettter understand video tutorials, so maybe now it's time that I try that solution.

    Good Article

Really I was thinking about trying Drupal but I heard it is quite complicated. Thanks!
